Katiedid look back at twenty-one through twenty-five.

I turned twenty-six last week.
All the details of the birthday festivities will be revealed in the next post.
It was so fun it deserves a LONG, detailed post of its very own!

On my birthday I always try to remember what I did for my previous birthday celebrations.
I have the worst memory. And my husband has the best memory.
So, Mr. Smarty Pants is usually the one telling me what we did the year before.

I decided to dedicate this post to looking back and remembering all of my "adult" birthdays.
Enjoy the trip down Birthday Memory Lane...

twenty-one.
A night out with nursing school friends in Galveston.

twenty-two.
A simple celebration and dinner with close family and friends.

twenty-three.
My husband (then boyfriend) surprised his mom and I with a joint party!

twenty-four.
A special dinner with MM, brunch at my favorite spot, and poolside fun.

twenty-five.
Dinner at my favorite Mexican Restaurant and a fun-filled family trip to New Braunfels.

Check back in a few days for all the details about twenty-six.
Make your week worth celebrating!

Katiedid love on her main men.

I love my Daddy.

He is Mr. Laid-back and always have a good time!

Not Mr. Talkative, but when he does talk, always finds the right words to say.

Mr. Selfless, who never wins a battle with these three girlies.

And truly Mr. Tenderhearted.

Mr. Amazing Husband has been nursing my little Momma back to health for the past 2 weeks.
So, for Father's Day I treated Mr. Best Dad Ever to a day on the course with his favorite golf buddies.
Mom and I hung out at home and waited for them to drive by!

Such cuties.
I am so happy they play well together!

I love my husband.
Last week I was way busy.
None of my typical "house wife" tasks were completed.
And those of you who know me already, know I can not sleep when my house is not clean.
While I was working last Saturday I sent out this shot-in-the-dark text to my Hot Hubby.

And as you can see, he said he would take over my wifely duties.
I do not delegate chores often, but after coming home to this...
I think I just may start delegating more often!
{See those beautiful vacuum lines?!}
Melts my neat freak heart!

Someone is turning 26 years old tomorrow. But, I am not naming names!
26 is OLD... Thats is LATE 20's people!

Katiedid erase minds.

See the little gadget pictured below.
Yep, that is my magic thermometer mind eraser.

The Story:
Today I triaged a super cute young-ish couple in the ER.
I obtained the husband's vital signs and swiped this little mystery wand across his forehead and then touched it behind his ear.
His reply: "What is that crazy thing? A mind eraser?"
His wife's reply: "No honey, if it was they would use that after they violate you."
My reply as I busted out with laughter: "Now that would be awesome!"
Our following conversation may or may not have been work appropriate.

Oh, the fun I could have with my own personal mind eraser.
"No MM, I did not just carry in multiple shopping bags full of new purchases..."
Slide the mind eraser across his head.
"Ugh, I did not just see the receipt for my birthday present in my husband's email..."
Slide the mind eraser across my head.
"No Mom, you have not spent the last week in pain, nauseous, and laying in bed..."
Slide the mind eraser across her head.

The Update:
My Galveston trip was flawless!
My fake patient encounter was "beautiful."
I stitched up some piggy feet nice and pretty.
I did take a picture. Want to see?!
I scored some sassy new tops from Haba's.
I am currently on day 5 of my consecutive school/clinic/work schedule. 1 more to go! Holla.
My birthday is next Tuesday! I have no big plans for the day and I LOVE IT.

Do something worthy of mind erasing this weekend!
I dare you.

Katiedid attempt to be cool.

Last Saturday was spent poolside in attempt to stay COOL in the scorching Houston heat.

We were not planning on taking this chunky ball of fur with us during our afternoon outside...
But, we couldn't ignore her precious puppy dog eyes as we were walking out the door.
We scooped her up because she totally asked for it!

This HOT Momma attempted to keep COOL by sneaking drinks from the pool all day.

Grace isn't particularly a fan of other dogs, but kept her COOL around Miss Lady.

These crazy boys played pool Beer Pong like the COOL college kids they still wish to be.

After our afternoon in the sun, Grace came home to her COOL new COOLing dog bed.
Her super COOL Daddy found it on the internet last week and surprised her with it.

Sunday afternoon we visited my sweet recuperating Momma.
She is getting stronger and stronger each day.
Way COOL if you ask me!
Please continue to pray for her physical strength and patience.
She is not the "lay around" and inactive type.
So, being home and in bed most of the day is not her favorite thing to do.

Sunday evening we went to a little family dinner and feather session at my in-laws.
My totally COOL cousin in-law, Lindsey, finally feathered me up!
The goods.

The action shots.

The fabulous feather-ist!
{In back and white just as she requested.}
Who cares if yesterday my 17 year old patient and her friend had feathers too?!
They liked them and thought I was pretty COOL.
And I get to feel like a tired, hard-working, nurse, student, adult COOL and carefree teenager all summer long!

Today I am headed to Galveston for some school stuff.
First, I am going to try to keep my COOL while doing a videotaped patient encounter.
Think a paid "patient," myself, and my instructor watching on the other side of the glass and listening with head phones.
Awkward?! Not COOL?! I think so.
Afterwards, we have a suture workshop scheduled.
Learning how to sew people up... COOLer for sure.
After all the work is done, I am treating myself to a little shopping stop at my FAVORITE boutique in Galveston.
COOLest ending ever to a not so COOL day.

Hope the rest of your week is super COOL!
